I am thrilled to be partnering with a charity which partners with small local charities across England and Wales, helping people overcome complex social issues, as they look to find their new Press and Communications Officer. I am keen to speak to an ambitious, talented and passionate individual who will be excited to join a multi disciplined Communications team.

The main purpose of the role is to raise awareness of the charity’s work as they want to shine the spotlight on the underfunded, unsung heroes in the charities they support through impactful communications campaigns.

The ideal candidate:

“If you have a passion for storytelling and enjoy working to a fast-paced news cycle, we’re looking for a proactive and tenacious Press and Communications Officer to promote the charities we support and the vital work they do, while seeking out thought leadership opportunities”.

Previous experience in a busy press office is vital, and you will have experience of pro-actively seeking out media opportunities, selling in stories and pitching ideas and building relationships with journalists and key stakeholders.

If you’re looking for an interesting and varied role that you can make your own, are passionate about local charities making a difference across England and Wales and are willing to learn, this is the right job for you. The charity can offer a friendly and supportive team and plenty of opportunity for learning, development and professional growth.

12 month FTC, working full-time hours.

Based in London.

Salary £29,000- £31,500 dependent on experience

To apply, please e-mail me your CV to start the conversation, and I can then provide the full job description.

The firm closing date is Monday 28th September, so please get in touch ASAP to avoid disappointment.

Please note only suitable candidates will be contacted.

The charity encourage applications from all sections of our diverse community, irrespective of age, disability, sex, gender reassignment, pregnancy, maternity, race (which includes colour, nationality and ethnic or national origins), sexual orientation, religion or belief, or because someone is married or in a civil partnership. “We believe our organisation will be a better, more creative and an innovative place to work if we can harness the benefit of lots of different perspectives”.

In addition the charity is committed to making their own recruitment practices barrier-free and as inclusive as possible for everyone. This includes making adjustments or changes for people who have a disability or long-term health condition. If you need any ‘reasonable adjustments’ for any part of the recruitment process please let us know, in confidence, to discuss these.
