Service Team Leader (Homelessness / Accommodation Support)

Location: King Georges House, Stockwell

Contract: 6 Month Fixed Term Contract, with possible extension.

Salary: £30,900

Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday)

Interview dates: 8.10.20

About the role

The aim of this role is to assist the Team Manager in providing a high quality accommodation based support to single homeless young people with complex support needs including those involved in serious youth violence, mental ill health and other hard-to-reach groups.

Services on-site include a 7 bed hostel for Teenage Parents, a small service for families with no recourse to public funds, three emergency bed spaces and an 87 bed general needs hostel for young people.

In addition, you will have full responsibility for line managing a designated number of support and service staff as well as holding a complex needs caseload and being a general point of contact for day to day support queries for staff on shift.

Managing the day to day pressures of a busy hostel environment whilst dealing with unforeseen incidents will be a key element in your role.

About you

As well as having experience of supporting vulnerable people to achieve independent living, you must have a clear understanding of why people become homeless, and the needs and challenges they f    ace

You will have experience of supporting staff     to deliver the highest standards of service delivery to customers. Effectively managed rent arrears and voids to maximise income

You have worked with young people involved in serious youth violence/gangs OR have experience working with teenage parents with complex needs around Safeguarding, Child Protection or Child in Need Plans.     

You will be willing to engage in developing your own reflective practice and support your team to develop their own.

You will have maintained effective relationships with outside agencies including the police, social service and other statutory and voluntary agencies.
