The Organisation

Bristol SU is an organisation for all University of Bristol students, led by elected student reps working together to create the best student life.   Part business, part charity, part membership body – Bristol SU is a seriously exciting place to work.  Our professional staff do something extraordinary every day:  we support student leaders to give people a voice in their education, help people get the most out of their student experience and help people make the change they want in the world.  We have over 25,000 members, 350 clubs and societies, a huge range of professional services, and a dedicated, experienced team of staff.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Board of Trustees, the Chief Executive is accountable for the performance, management, development and long-term sustainability of Bristol SU, developing our services, strategy and objectives to meet the needs of our members and realise our vision of the best student life.

As Chief Executive you will drive Bristol SU’s newly formed strategy to realise impactful change for University of Bristol students, making Bristol SU an organisation people are proud to be part of be that staff, volunteers, or members.

The Person

You will be an inclusive and transformational leader with a strong understanding of the importance of student voice, inclusion, representation and the need to create a sense of community and belonging for a diverse membership.  You will demonstrate substantial senior management skills with strong coaching, commercial acumen, communication and leadership skills, with experience in delivering significant organisational change.  You’ll be prepared to commit to the organisation’s long-term development, have an ability to build and nurture a culture of support, trust and transparency.  You will be a strategic planner with a high degree of networking skills and have a good understanding of the charitable governance and experience with working closely with Trustees.

This is a fantastic opportunity to lead Bristol SU through the next step in our incredible journey, pushing us to be sector-leading and supporting students to make the most of their time at University of Bristol.
