The Paul Mellon Centre for Studies in British Art (PMC) is looking for an experienced, organised and proactive Finance Officer to join their team. As an educational charity committed to promoting original, world-class research into the history of British art and architecture of all periods we have two complementary purposes: to contribute to the understanding of British art and architecture and to act as a research centre for scholars working in this field.  We collaborate closely with the Yale Center for British Art, and we are part of Yale University.

During the last few years the PMC has undergone major expansion to support its growing academic activities.  As such, an opportunity has arisen for an organised, efficient and proactive Finance Officer to join the PMC’s Finance & Operations Team.  Reporting to the Deputy Director for Finance & Administration (DD for F&A), this full-time role will work closely with the Finance & Administration Officer to manage and carry out all the PMC’s day-to-day bookkeeping and financial responsibilities, and play a key role in ensuring that all internal financial processes and procedures are working efficiently and effectively.  This varied role will suit an experienced and knowledgeable Finance Officer who has a proactive, flexible approach to work, excellent in person and remote communication skills, and an ability to use their initiative, multi-task, and work well as part of a team.

Queries about the role can be sent to Sarah Ruddick, Deputy Director for Finance and Administration sruddick@paul-mellon-centre.ac.uk
