Cancer is different for young people. Our vision is a world where cancer doesn’t stop young people from living their lives – and our job in making that vision a reality is to improve the experience, survival and recovery of every young person with cancer in the UK.

Young people facing cancer are at the centre of everything we do. Our values are built around this. We believe we can support young people with cancer best if we work in a determined, united, spirited and kind way. What that means is we all believe deeply in what we do & why we do it, but we also bring the attitude, drive, energy and passion that makes things happen.

Teenage Cancer Trust has been a hugely successful organisation for many years – leading the way in specialist support for young people with cancer in the UK and across the globe. We’re driven by what young people with cancer need and are the UK’s leading charity dedicated solely to the treatment, care and support of 13-25-year olds with cancer.

What’s clear is that we have significant opportunities to further expand and deepen our impact - but doing that in the face of the challenges to income posed by the current pandemic is going to be challenging.

Now, we’re not daunted by that, far from it and we’re looking for a Director of Fundraising who can rise to the challenge and seize opportunities. With the right fundraising leader to help rebuild revenue and develop our strengths we know we will not only survive but thrive. This is not an organisation – or role - that’s about more of the same or one size fits all.

Our team, our supporters and most of all young people with cancer need you to be a fundraising leader who is creative, collaborative and prepared to think differently. We need to continue to innovate to help drive the growth in impact that young people deserve, and our supporters expect.

This role has the potential to be life changing - not only for young people with cancer - but also for you and the talented, experienced teams you will be leading and empowering.

We need our Directors to be brilliant cross-organisational leaders with stacks of emotional intelligence and stakeholder engagement skills.  You will thrive when working in partnership and making alliances. Success and strength are not about us doing everything – it’s about getting everything done with others. At Teenage Cancer Trust we succeed, fail & learn together and are stronger than the sum of our parts.

If this sounds like you, we would love to hear from you.

You should review the job pack and job description before applying online. Don't forget to upload your CV and covering letter! If you require any help making your application please contact us.

Applications should be received by 3.00pm on 6 July 2020.
First interviews:           13th and 14th July (online)
Second interviews:     20th and 22nd July (online)

We are committed to working towards ensuring Teenage Cancer Trust is a diverse and inclusive place to work. We welcome applications from everyone regardless of race, age, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, faith or disability.

Company

At Teenage Cancer Trust, we understand that young people with cancer require specialist care. We know how damaging it is to take a young person away from their everyday life, their friends, their environment, their family – and put them in a cancer ward with small children or older people.

We don’t believe that teenagers should have to stop being teenagers, just because they have cancer. We do believe that young people have a much better chance in their fight against cancer if they are treated by teenage cancer experts, in an environment tailored to their needs. So we’re working every day to make that happen.

Teenage Cancer Trust units aren’t like ordinary cancer wards. Everything about them has been designed to give teenagers the very best chance of a positive outcome. We want every young person with cancer in this country to have that chance.

We estimate that with the units we currently have around the UK, half of the teenagers diagnosed with cancer now have access to this dedicated, specialist support. Our aim is to build enough units so that every teenager in the UK will be treated on one.
