Our communications work is central to achieving our purpose. In this newly created role, reporting directly to the Director of Communications & Policy, the Assistant Director of Strategic Communications & Campaigns will lead a team responsible for the development and implementation of integrated communication campaigns, developing and evaluating of our annual Communications Plan, and overseeing our digital channels, events and staff communications. This post will work effectively across the organisation to transform how the it engages with the public and influences trustees and the charitable sector. They will ensure that strategic communications, marketing and campaigns become a key regulatory tool and that customer journeys for new and existing users of our digital services are transformed.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Develop integrated communication campaigns to deliver priority areas of work and improve how the organisation communicates with trustees, the charitable sector and the public, in line with Government Communications Service best practice.
  • Effectively leading the Strategic Communications team, Digital Communications Team, Events team and Internal Communications team ensuring a positive and high-performance culture
  • Pro-actively providing strategic communications advice to the directors and their senior leadership teams. The post holder will need to have a high level of knowledge and build excellent relationships to ensure that their advice is followed
  • Holding to account members of the Communications & Policy Directorate SLT and their teams for delivery of agreed activities for specific campaigns.
  • Working with Directors, Assistant Directors and the Business Planning team to identify the communication and influencing requirements in specific work activities as they are developed through business planning.
  • Producing and delivering an annual programme of communication activities linked to the priorities set out in the Communications & Engagement Strategy and the organisation’s business plan
