Non-Executive Director & Chair of Heart of Medway Housing Association

We’re unique in being the largest social landlord in the UK not registered with the social housing provider. We own and manage over 10,000 homes across north Kent – a place of high demand and housing stress, where the population is forecast to grow by 146,000 in the next 20 years.

We believe that everyone needs a decent home. Our ultimate ambition is to help end the housing crisis in north Kent.  The Board set the overall strategic direction of the organization, with a clear focus to deliver excellent services to our customers and make sure we’re governed well.  The mhs homes Group Board meet seven times a year and the subsidiary board meets six times a year.

We have a strong group of leaders on our Boards and within our Leadership Team. Together they’re responsible for the overall direction, management and delivery of the group.

We’re looking for someone to join our Group Board as a Non-Executive Director and Chair the Heart of Medway Housing Association Board. Someone with extensive experience in the social housing sector, with a strong understanding of the role of a Non-Executive Director/Trustee and the ability to be an effective Chair.

You’ll be an agile thinker, used to quickly assimilating new and complex ideas and able to clearly articulate your insights and perspectives in a range of settings.

Our values and behaviours apply to everyone at mhs homes and they underpin everything we do. You can find out more about these here; https://www.mhs.org.uk/about-us/work-for-us/our-values-and-behaviours/
