Description

This role consolidates marketing and commercial campaign activity across the hospital.

The post-holder will be required to establish this new role, bringing together disparate teams and activity. They will take day-to-day responsibility for the planning, development, delivery and evaluation of effective commercial and growth marketing activity across the different streams of the hospital.

They will report to and support the Associate Director of Marketing Communications and team in setting the marketing strategy required to support the organisation's vision, overarching strategy and brand.

They will support the development of the Hospital's proposition and will drive the development of effective sub-propositions and services, ensuring that all relevant stakeholders are engaged.

They will develop marketing campaigns to raise consideration and conversion of interest into sale/use of the hospital's services. This will involve driving significant transformation of existing skills, ways of working and the use of external agency suppliers.

A significant part of the role and team will be to support the medical consultants in Private and provide support activity, qualified leads and managing prospective patients. This demands working closely with the medical teams in supporting the private practice, and the running of the call centre and enquiry team, call platform and associated staff for Private.

Developing marketing and campaigns to other referral audiences and direct influencers are also part of this marketing team's role.

The post-holder will need to balance the demands of multiple department leads who require marketing and communications support for growth plans. The role and team will work closely with other teams in the Marketing and Communications Department, and ensure that the brand is effectively communicated, in a consistent way, across all activity.

Drive patient numbers and revenues as business objectives - primarily for Private, but also NHS Trust overall, and in Research and Education.

Develop and deliver the marketing plans/campaigns for Private prospecting to patient treatment, engaging ophthalmologists, GP's and other influencer and referral target groups.

Lead effective prospect to patient handling experience and efficient deployment of resources within the New Patient Enquiry (NPE) centre.

Optimise the overall prospect to patient journey through effective budget ROI - maximising the on-Brand patient experience, relationship marketing/CRM and ensuring excellent word of mouth/loyalty about the organisation

Be responsible for proven and ongoing best performance of campaigns and marketing activities to ensure benchmark ROI and continual optimisation of media and resources.

Profile

Significant demonstrable experience in marketing planning and delivery

Significant experience of successfully leading a successful marketing team and delivering effective campaigns

Call centre and call handling/performance experience

Experience of developing an effective strategy for an organisation's digital presence including social media, public websites and intranets

Relevant knowledge of the healthcare sector marketing

Broad understanding of a range of range of digital media tools, including digital search engine optimisation techniques, content management systems and analytics

Experience of working with agencies, media strategy and buying, digital transformation

Planning and organisational skills to formulate long-term strategic plans involving uncertainty and which will affect the whole organisation

Ability to evaluate marketing initiatives both quantitatively and qualitatively and ensure future initiatives are informed by this learning

Knowledge of analytics, performance, and software packages such as the Adobe Marketing suite, Search analytics tools, knowledge of graphic design, desktop publishing and print processes
