Pennies is a leading fintech charity at the forefront of innovation in digital micro donations for charity. Pennies mission is to transform the not for profit sector, helping charities to increase their fundraising potential and become more impactful. By creating a unique 'digital ecosystem' and partnerships with leading national brands they have unlocked millions of pounds of new donations. To date, Pennies has raised £22m from 88m consumer donations to support more than 500 charities, and these numbers are continuing to grow at a significant pace.
The Head of Finance and Governance is a pivotal role with Pennies.This is a unique opportunity to join a highly entrepreneurial and growing organisation in a role that will require both a strategic and a hands-on approach. You will be actively engaged in the overall control and performance of the finance and governance office functions, ensuring that they are actively contributing to the delivery of the Pennies ambitious strategy and mission.You will be an integral part of the team, working across the organisation on a range of projects. You will also work closely with the board, acting as company secretary.
We are looking for a fully qualified accountant, with significant post-qualification experience in senior management positions within fast paced environments. You will also have experience of producing management and statutory accounts with the ability to present these to a range of stakeholders. You will have excellent communication skills, with the ability to work with a board or similar governance body. The ability to manage and produce budgets will also be required for this position.
Highly analytical and strategic, you have the capacity to build personal credibility with senior stakeholders and business leaders.Critically, you will be a confident and engaged self-starter with a passionate commitment and a genuine interest in Pennies' mission and values.
