The Director of Programmes and Advocacy is a newly created position, responsible for the impact War Child UK makes through delivering services to children, families and communities, through developing innovative and evidence based methodologies which can be adopted by other organisations, and through changing policy at local, national, and international levels.

The role is accountable for the strategic investment of over £15 million per year, and the development of a rigorous, effective and impactful integration of programmes and advocacy effort, and will be a key part of the War Child UK Senior Leadership Team responsible for long term strategic development of our organisation and culture.

We are looking for an exceptional individual for this critical role. You will bring significant leadership experience from conflict effected locations, effectively leading and managing teams across a number of disciplines and geographies, including child protection.

Your experience will also include high level advocacy with governments, the UN and other agencies, as well as a wide range of donors, and you have built successful funding partnerships. Finally, you share our values and believe that children's lives should not be torn apart by war.
