Job Title: Senior Fundraising Manager

Hours: 37.5 to include evening and weekend work in order to meet the business needs of the role

Location: Cransley Hospice Trust Fundraising Office Kettering NN15 7PW

Salary: £34-£38,000 dependant on experience plus generous leave allowance                                   

Reporting to: Director of Income Generation & Marketing

Direct line management responsibility for: Community and Events team (circa 4)

At Cransley Hospice Trust we have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Fundraising Manager to join our successful team.

This is a new post and you will be joining us at a pivotal point in the review and development of our overall fundraising strategy and will play a key part in helping to shape and deliver the community and events portfolio.

You will have significant experience of leading a small but successful team of community and event fundraisers and have gained significant experience in managing budgets, forecasting and delivering to agreed targets.

You will be able to demonstrate an excellent ROI for all projects undertaken, including evidence of success working in the community, which includes some mass participation event growth.

Your role will see you develop your own relationships to raise funds, whilst also supporting your team to achieve.

Volunteers are key to our success and therefore experience of recruiting and managing volunteers is also a requirement of this role.

At Cransley Hospice we are determined to improve End of life care in the county through leadership of the development and funding for, Specialist Palliative Care services and engagement with End of Life provision. We are a small but growing team with a professional and proactive approach to all we do.

Overall aim of the role

Working with the Director of Income Generation & Marketing, develop a strategy to deliver, implement and grow a new and sustainable community and events portfolio in order to meet and exceed fundraising targets.

Delivering to agreed income targets, both as an individual and supporting your team to achieve their objectives.

Working with the marketing manager, identify priorities for community and events marketing materials, social media content and other publications.

Delivering exceptional donor care to supporters, reflecting the sensitive nature of the work of Cransley Hospice.

Key responsibilities of the post

The post-holder will be responsible for:

  • Leading the development and growth of the Cransley Hospice Trust community and events portfolio.
  • Drive the success of the team through effective and inspiring leadership to ensure they remain highly motivated and delivers to targets/objectives.
  • Identifying and developing new and existing fundraising opportunities within the geographical area of Cransley Hospice Trust
  • Achieving and exceeding agreed fundraising targets whilst adhering to expenditure budgets and therefore deliver a strong return on investment
  • Working with a prospecting income pipeline, ensure accurate and timely financial forecasting, identifying any risk to projected income and mitigating accordingly
  • Develop strategies to increase both the number of event participants and the level of sponsorship raised per person.
  • Lead the events team, devising, initiating and managing fundraising events ensuring that there is an approved plan in place for the event
  • Overseeing event plans, including taking responsibility for compliance with statutory regulations with regards to licences, safety and hygiene.
  • Take a hands-on approach to the role, supporting at flagship events when required.
  • Developing a programme of community and events fundraising activity to increase support and to service fundraising activities by groups and individuals in the community who are raising money on our behalf.
  • Researching, identifying and developing a network of contacts and key supporters within the area who will support fundraising events/activities
  • Having an up-to-date knowledge and understanding of and to adhere to, current Charity Law, Institute of Fundraising guidelines and best practices.
  • Promoting awareness and support of Cransley Hospice Trust and to act as an ambassador to help build the brand of Cransley Hospice Trust by delivering a clear and compelling case for support
  • Work with the marketing manager to ensure all community and event activities are well planned and marketed effectively.
  • Evaluating the marketing, publicity and fundraising initiatives and ensure the development, planning and delivery of future activities are built on the findings
  • Contributing to the Hospice newsletter and social media activity by generating articles and content
  • The role of volunteers is integral to the work of Cransley Hospice Trust and paid staff are required to underpin this in their attitude and actions

Health and Safety

  • Ensure risk assessments are carried out for all organised events and relevant risk mitigation actions implemented where appropriate

Education

  • The post holder will be educated to degree level or hold a relevant equivalent qualification
  • A member of the IOF

Additional Responsibilities

  • To carry out any other duties as requested by the Director of Income Generation
  • There is a requirement to comply with all the Hospice policies, procedures and guidelines, including those relating to Health and Safety, Confidentiality and the Data Protection Act

Additional Information

  • The post holder is required to work evenings and weekends to meet business need and will receive TOIL (time off in lieu) as agreed with the Director of Income Generation
