Job Details

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Invictus Games Foundation in a new role to support the growth and diversification of our international programmes.

The Invictus Games Foundation (through the Invictus Games) supports veterans and service personnel who have been wounded, injured or sick (WIS) during, or as a consequence of, their military service.

We believe they all deserve to be able to lead a purposeful and fulfilling life.

“I found myself in a very difficult position, in a very dark place,
and the Invictus Games provided me that light at the end of the tunnel.”

In 2014 we created a blueprint for the Invictus Games, which has now been delivered in four cities. The fifth taking place in The Hague in May in 2020.

We are now seeking a senior entrepreneurial major gifts fundraiser to join our small and agile team.

You will be personally committed to those that have served and motivated to support our ambitious income growth plans.

Within a small team and reporting to the Development Director you will be at ease working with senior executives, philanthropists and other supporters to build relationships and secure long-term gifts. You will be equally happy being hands-on and getting stuck-in to support the wider team.

IGF appointed its first Development Director in early 2019 to diversify its income streams, develop commercial partnerships, collaborate with international teams and identify philanthropic programmes. With recent success, IGF is seeking to expand its fundraising capacity to support its evolving strategy and aspirations to support the international WIS community. This new post will support the team to double its income from £1m to £2m by 2021.

For an informal conversation and to discuss the role including flexible working options, please contact Jenni Anderson, Development Director on 020 3848 4654.

To apply please send a comprehensive CV with a covering letter via email to Jenni Anderson by using the apply section below.

Closing date: 16th January 2020

Interviews in London: w/c 27 January or w/c 3 February 2020

Company

The Invictus Games Foundation charity supports the recovery and rehabilitation of international wounded injured and sick service personnel and veterans through sport. It was established following the success of the first Invictus Games in London in 2014, with the aim of spreading the Invictus Spirit worldwide. The Invictus Games Foundation governs the delivery of the Invictus Games, runs an online community (We Are Invictus) and as well as provides year-round sport recovery and adventurous challenge opportunities beyond the Games across 23 nations.

Prince Harry, The Duke of Sussex, is Patron of the Invictus Games Foundation and founder of the Invictus Games, which has so far been held in London 2014, Orlando 2016, Toronto 2017, Sydney 2018, The Hague 2022, and Dusseldorf 2023.

Through providing sport recovery opportunities and adventurous challenge, the Foundation’s work supports long term improvements in physical and mental health, inspires change and motivates wider society, and helps wounded injured and sick service personnel and veterans reconnect with their families and communities. The online community is facilitated via We Are Invictus, a free bespoke app and platform built by and for the WIS community.
