Cambridge House is entering its 131st year as a social action centre and we are seeking finance and generalist trustees who bring senior-level experience and passionately share our vision of an inclusive society without poverty.

One role is for a Finance Trustee with:

  • Recent and relevant financial experience.
  • A professional accountancy qualification.
  • Experience of and an understanding of regulations and compliance in terms of financial reporting for the charity sector, including knowledge of FRS 102 and SORP.

The second role is for a general trustee with skills and experience in one or more of the following:

  • Fundraising and corporate sponsorship.
  • Charity marketing and digital communications.
  • The delivery of frontline services in a community setting.
  • Youth empowerment, disabled people’s empowerment, housing and homelessness and/or services for people living with mental health or mental capacity conditions.
  • Safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults.
  • Management of community assets.

These rewarding and stimulating roles will require a time commitment of around eight days a year and are unremunerated.

We are particularly keen to ensure that our trustees reflect the diverse nature of the communities in which we work. Applications from disabled people, the LGBTQ+ communities, people from ethnic minority backgrounds, South London residents and people who share lived experience with our service users are very warmly welcomed.
