Are you a communications professional, passionate about protecting our shared environment and seeking to make a difference? Our goal is to address the climate crisis by urgently reducing emissions of climate changing pollutants, helping people and nature to adapt to the global warming that does occur. Join the growing European affiliate of international NGO Environmental Defense Fund to help us win solutions through effective advocacy.

As Head of Communications you will be responsible for the development and the implementation of EDF Europe’s communications strategy, overseeing multiple initiatives in the UK and Europe and helping to identify new opportunities. You will be working in close cooperation with our European Executive Director, Baroness Bryony Worthington, and our US Marketing and Communications team.

As a growing team of approx. 20 total employees in Europe, the impact and reach of our work belies our size. We are looking for a crucial new team member with a proven track record in building profile for issues and organisations, and a flare for storytelling and attracting attention.

You will be adept at picking up issues quickly and using your relationship building skills to develop close ties with our policy and campaign experts. You will relish keeping an overview of the rapidly changing landscape in which we operate. Using self-publishing, earned and paid channels you will craft, develop and implement a communications strategy to help meet EDF Europe’s goals and priorities.

As an established communications professional, you’ll have an in-depth knowledge of the UK digital and media scene with a pre-existing network of contacts and an ability to execute multiple projects simultaneously.

This is a challenging role for a motivated, ambitious and articulate communications and sustainability professional with a strong passion for making a difference in the fight against climate change. If that’s you we’d love you to join us.
