Job Details
Can you help give a voice to some of London's most socially disadvantaged and excluded people?
Single Homeless Project (SHP) are looking for a confident and creative communications professional to play a key role in bringing about local and national change by influencing service provision in areas such as homelessness, physical and mental health, substance use and domestic violence.
Fulfilling Lives Islington and Camden (FLIC) is an eight year national Lottery Community Fund programme working in Camden and Islington. FLIC is part of a national 'Fulfilling Lives' programme and is one of twelve England-wide projects with the strategic goal of ensuring that people experiencing multiple disadvantage, including homelessness, substance use and mental health issues, receive appropriate, effective and coordinated support. Much of the work consists of testing new approaches and using learning to bring about both local and national change.
We are delighted to be working with Single Homeless Project to recruit the newly created role of Communications Manager to help them drive forwards their influencing work. They need someone who is passionate, creative, strategic and who can use their excellent Communications skills to really make a difference.
You will:
- Develop and manage delivery of the Fulfilling Lives Islington & Camden (FLIC) Communications Strategy
- Raise the profile of FLIC's work and engage key stakeholders to take action to improve services for people experiencing multiple disadvantage.
- Disseminate learning from the project utilising the full communications mix, via engaging and credible key messages that reflect FLIC's ethos and strategy, in order to influence a wide range of partners and relevant stakeholders at both local and national level.
- Develop creative and engaging resources and materials, in print, online and via multimedia, with a strong emphasis on user voice.
- Write and edit accurate, fluent and engaging copy for use across a range of communications channels, including website, social media, publications, press releases and newsletters/bulletins.
- Lead on the organisation, promotion and delivery of key events such as learning events and conferences.
This person will also maintain and develop the FLIC website to ensure that content is up to date, that the site conveys the key strategic messages of the project and that a comprehensive suite of learning resources is readily available.
If you feel you fit the bill and have the necessary skills and experience, please get in touch!
