Job Details

With the scale of the challenge facing nature there are few roles as important as this. Our mission to halt and reverse nature's decline is a big ask. We know we cannot succeed alone, which is why we need a substantial step change in income and supporter growth. This is where your expertise comes in as Director of Individual Marketing and Legacies.

As a member of the leadership team you will drive the work of multiple departments dedicated to attracting, engaging and inspiring members of the public to join us and support our work. We will look to you to develop and launch exciting new fundraising products to attract new audiences as well as optimise and improve the performance of existing fundraising programmes. You will also enhance our reputation for innovation by maximising the use of cutting-edge digital technologies, inventive media planning and ground-breaking creative execution. You will recruit, develop and motivate staff to perform at the highest level too. Important will be the ability to create and deliver an integrated strategy to engage the UK public and maximise every opportunity to gain competitive advantage.

You must have experience in growing a large and complex individual giving programme across all fundraising channels and be comfortable creating and developing fundraising strategies. With an excellent understanding of performance metrics and KPIs for campaigning and engagement, you will be familiar with interpreting data and acting on insight. Good at overseeing external service partners, you will also possess in- depth knowledge of digital media and the use of digital channels for marketing communications. You will have strong understanding of fundraising and data protection regulations too. Critically, you will have significant expertise in customer or supporter development and care.

Comfortable managing budgets and building high performing teams, you will be effective at building relationships and taking decisions. You will favour a collaborative working style and possess outstanding interpersonal, influencing and communication skills. Of course, you will be able to demonstrate a commitment to the natural world and WWF’s core mission too.

At WWF-UK we are committed to creating an inclusive working environment, where diversity is valued and there is equality of opportunity. We therefore welcome applications from all sections of the community and we offer a range of benefits to encourage a work life balance.

Our world needs you like never before. We are the first generation to know we are destroying the world and we could be the last that can do anything about it. We’re looking for people who are passionate about making it politically, socially and economically unacceptable to destroy our planet’s natural resources. We need you to join us in the fight for our world.

Company

Best known as the world’s leading conservation body, we’ve seen first-hand how wildlife, the environment and human activity are all interlinked.

That’s why our passion for safeguarding the natural world has to be backed up by other environmental action – tackling the global threat of climate change (through our big global campaigns like Earth Hour) and helping people to change the way they live to ease pressure on natural resources.

WWF is at the heart of global activities in all these areas. We have teams of highly skilled professionals working with governments, businesses and communities here in the UK and around the world.
