Freelance Contract | Home-based | circa 14 hours a week

Our client is the Institute of Fundraising’s Special Interest Group for Prospect Researchers. The group is about to embark on an ambitious new project to create a handbook  - the Fundraising Intelligence Handbook - and associated training sessions and materials to centralise and standardise best practice for prospect research in the UK.

In order to support this, we are seeking a dedicated, energetic Project Manager to work on a part-time basis to drive forward this project.

The Project Manager will be responsible for the timely delivery of the handbook and the associated training sessions and materials included in the project. They will work closely with the interest group to convene 10-12 expert Working Groups which will be comprised of experts on prospect research and fundraising intelligence both within and without the charity/HE sectors. Members of the Working Group will be recruited on a volunteer basis.

The key responsibilities of the role are:

  • To develop a clear project plan for the writing, production, editing, legal review and publication of the Fundraising Intelligence Handbook and associated training programme/materials;
  • To create a strong working relationship with each the Working Groups, and to ensure each Group’s output is delivered in accordance with the production schedule and to the standard that has been previously agreed;
  • To work closely with and report to the Special Interest Group and Steering Group on a regular basis on project delivery and progress against schedule;
  • To create a range of related training sessions across the UK, delivered through a network of trainers and venue partners.
