Job Details

This is an exciting and unique opportunity to join the team at Foundation for Future London (the Foundation) to lead on opening inclusive social, economic and wellbeing opportunities for people and places through arts, innovation, culture, education, and creative placemaking in London's new East Bank, its surrounding communities, and to visitors across East London and wider London.

The Organisation

The Foundation for Future London is an independent charity established in 2015, devoted to supporting East Bank, with a mandate to ensure the nurturing of unique, collaborative innovation, place, arts, cultural, wellbeing and educational programming. The Foundation's mission is to build the programmes relationships, convene partners and stakeholders, cultivate private sector funding, and support partnerships among cultural and educational organisations throughout East Bank and East London. An integral part of this is to ensure the communities of the neighboring four Boroughs (Hackney, Newham, Tower Hamlets and Waltham Forest), have access to and are totally engaged with this ambitious project.

The Role

To help fulfil this mission, the Director of Programme and Communication will work closely with the CEO and staff to shape the distinctive, inclusive, creative, regenerative force that East Bank brings to East London and beyond, understanding and responding to a range of stakeholders needs.

The Director of Programme and Communication will work closely with all members of the SLT to oversee the delivery of the Foundation's funding programmes, specifically the Foundation's new five year £10 million Westfield Stratford City founding funding, part of the East Bank opportunities programme. You will be responsible for leading and developing this new programme - and related programmes - with donors, East Bank partners and the wider East Bank communities in the boroughs.

Within this role you will also lead the Foundation's influencing and communications activities through developing and implementing an influencing and communications strategy, working closely with funders and donors, which will build the Foundation's programmes, research, profile and networks - local, London, UK and global.

The Person

To be successful in this role you will need to have demonstrable track record of developing programmes, with proven experience of working to deliver arts, innovation, culture and placemaking as part of a wider partnership network, ideally focussed on tackling inequality and improving social and economic opportunities. As a key part of this you will need to be experienced at strategically developing communications and influencing strategies which enable influencing and profile raising activity to support programme impact

You will need to be a forward-thinking, dynamic individual who provides proactive leadership and vision in developing new, innovative programmes. You will have excellent relationship management skills, both internally and externally and be adept at leading and managing multiple diverse projects simultaneously.

How to Apply

Please upload your CV in Word format and include a supporting statement as part of your application, addressing your experience in relation to the key points on the person specification, which should be no longer than 2 sides of A4.

A Prospectus consultant will review and assess all submitted applications. As part of the selection process, candidates may be invited to meet with a consultant at our offices.

Closing date: 1st December

First panel interviews: w/c 16th December
