Young People's Community Worker

This is an exciting opportunity to join an established Social Care Team at Southampton General Hospital who provide services and support to children, teenagers and young adults with cancer.

Young People's Community Worker Responsibilities:

You will be expected to maintain a high standard of professionalism and provide day to day support for teenagers, young adults and their families. You will provide practical, emotional and financial support via direct contact with young people and families, completing registrations and grant applications, using our assessment process and providing information and assistance with accessing appropriate services. This role will also have a particular focus on supporting young people with their education & employment opportunities. You will hold a case load, maintaining case records according to Services Standards and contribute to collecting and presenting data for reports and evaluations.

Young People's Community Worker Requirements:

Our client is looking for someone who has the confidence and empathy to meet with young people and families when they are experiencing great distress. You will also be highly organised and efficient. You will be able to facilitate groups to encourage peer support and have experience of working with young people and families.

Location: Southampton - Southampton General Hospital, SO16 6YD

Job type: Part Time, Temporary Fixed Term Contract Up to 12 months mat cover, 28 hours per week

Salary: £31,093 (FTE)
