Job Details
Prospectus is delighted to be working with The London Community Foundation (LCF) to recruit to two newly created Head of Grant Operations roles.
The Organisation
LCF is dedicated to improving the lives of London's most disadvantaged. Child poverty, unemployment, isolation, homelessness, domestic violence and gang crime are just some of the issues being tackled through grant making. To date, they have raised over £100m for community-based organisations, deploying more than £80m in grants and building up an endowment of £20m. The charity holds a unique position in the Capital; they collaborate across public, private (individual) and corporate donors to raise funds to support London's grassroots organisations. They support donors to achieve their philanthropic aims whilst meeting the needs of London's communities. This dual purpose makes LCF unique as a grant maker in London. Following the launch of a new strategy in April of this year, the ambition is to grow LCF's reputation as a leading vehicle for London's giving.
The Role
Reporting into the Director of Grants and Impact, The Head of Grant Operations roles support the delivery of quality efficient and effective operations to ensure delivery of LCF's objectives. Key deliverables include grant operations management, donor relationship and account management, people management, and senior programme management as a key member of the middle management team. As a Head of Grant Operations your role will include overseeing grant operations processes, donor relationship management, staff development and bespoke project and programme management. You will have the opportunity to develop and continuously improve operational standards leading a small team to ensure the delivery of high quality, efficient and effective grants and donor relationship management.
The Person
We are looking for dynamic, enthusiastic, future leaders with people management experience. We are hoping to find two individuals with complementary skills, both bringing their own experience and expertise in different areas. Strong team management and performance management skills are essential, as well as a track record in managing change in complex environments. An understanding of the social sector is important, but experience of working for a grant funder is not essential for both roles. You may be a senior leader in a charity or social enterprise, or have worked in the corporate sector in Corporate Social Responsibility or, you may have other transferable skills. Your experience of managing complex external relationships will be important as will your financial literacy, risk and project management skills. Curious, with a desire to develop your understanding about how communities are tackling a range of social issues - from the integration of refugees and asylum seekers, through to improving the environment or reducing crime, you will be able to distil this knowledge into valuable insight to share with others, including potential donors. You are someone who thrives in a supportive environment that encourages you to take on new challenges, learn and improve.
If this sound like you and your ambition matches ours - to see a strong and vibrant London for everyone - please get in touch now!
Initial interviews will take place at the LCF offices in Brixton on 12th & 13th December
