Book Aid International is the UK’s leading book donation and library development charity. Every year, we place over a million brand new books into the hands of millions of people who would otherwise have few books, or no books at all. In the past three years we have expanded rapidly, focusing on the people who need books most, especially refugees and those affected by conflict.

We are seeking a Project Manager to join our team, from February 2020, on a 12 month maternity cover contract. The Project Manager is responsible for planning and implementing a range of projects and programmes for libraries and schools, including training for local partners. The Project Manager will undertake monitoring and evaluation activities and is required to travel to east, west or southern Africa for between 7-14 days at a time.

We are looking for an experienced librarian or teacher with training and project management expertise. Knowledge of issues relating to education and literacy in developing countries is a must and personal experience of living in the developing world would be an advantage.
