Job Details

Harris Hill is excited to be working with one of the UK's foremost health and social care organisations, who are looking for a Policy Manager.

As a key element of the recently expanded Policy and Public Affairs Team, this role will be the team's lead on research policy, spanning a wide variety of policy areas including: research funding in the context of Brexit; clinical trials; the impact of immigration policy on the science and medical communities; developing a positive research environment (particularly in terms of diversity, equality and inclusion); and more. Day-to-day responsibilities will span:

- Policy development (internal and external)
- Consultation responses
- Environment scanning
- Influencing public affairs and stakeholder engagement initiatives
- Analysing policy issues and recommending appropriate actions
- Line management of one junior member of staff

As this position has a specific focus on research policy, the postholder will have a solid background in research or research policy, ideally within a medical, health or social care context. The charity is open to applicants from a variety of sectors; for instance, this may be an opportunity for a research professional in the medical sector to take a step into the charity sector; or perhaps you're currently working for a health charity translating research findings into policy positions.

The charity is proud to promote a positive and collegiate working environment, with diversity, equality and inclusion and a strong work ethic at their core. They are proud to offer a variety of flexible working options, including some working from home, and you will be given the opportunity to lead with autonomy and develop and manage your own portfolio.

This is a full-time, permanent position paying 40,000 - 45,000 p.a. If you are keen to apply for this position, please send an updated CV to harry.marven@harrishill.co.uk as an expression of interest. The deadline for applications is Thursday 21st November.

Please note that only suitable applicants will be contacted with further information.
