Could you manage our clients Hospice Day Service to help and empower people to live well? We have an exciting opportunity for a Service Manager to make a real difference to patients, families and carers and the chance to offer a truly holistic approach to care.

Position: Hospice Day Service Manager

Location: Tunbridge Wells

Duration: Permanent

Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week

Salary: Circa £30,000 (FTE)

Come and work for an organisation that is about celebrating life and dignifying death. The day centre (Hospice Day Service) is focused on the wellbeing of those that attend and has a very committed team of staff and volunteers.

You will be joining the team at a very exciting time as they embark on a building extension (‘Foundations for the Future’ project) that will open and expand the current space.

About the Role

As Hospice Day Service Manager you will:

 

  • Help to promote empowerment and engagement with patients, family members and carers.
  • Play a key role in the daily operational management of the HDS, which is supported by over 100 volunteers.
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external colleagues to ensure the service runs in an effective and efficient way.
  • Ensure patient documentation is completed effectively in partnership with patient families and carers.
  • Assist and encourage empowerment and therapeutic and holistic delivery of care at all times, including end of life care and care after death.
  • Manage transport services.
  • Liaise with clinical teams to ensure requests for support are dealt with promptly and efficiently.

 

The charity strives to ensure that the community they serve has access to compassionate, individualised, holistic and supportive care for patients with a terminal illness, their families and carers. The Hospice in Pembury is in a beautiful rural setting, close to historic Royal Tunbridge Wells in Kent.

About You

You will have experience of managing a team with excellent communication and ICT skills with a passion to make a real difference to patients, families and carers.
