We have a challenging yet rewarding opportunity for a professional and creative individual to join our clients dedicated Policy, Advocacy and Campaigns team, as Campaigns Manager.

Position: Campaigns Manager - Skins

Location: Based in Sidmouth, Devon – “an area of outstanding natural beauty”

Hours: Full-time, 35 hours

Salary: £37,000

Contract: Permanent

Benefits: Generous annual leave, pension scheme, Healthshield plan, confidential counselling service, subsidised restaurant, free parking, enhanced maternity/paternity benefits, Life Assurance Scheme, 31 day’s holiday per year, inclusive of the 8 statutory public holidays. This increases by one day each year until a maximum of 34 days is reached.

Our client advocates for change in the global donkey skin trade, which evidence shows is both inhumane and unsustainable in its current form. Through research, policy, advocacy and engagement, they work for outcomes that are humane and sustainable protecting the welfare of donkeys and the livelihoods of those who may depend on them.

The Role

Working with the Head of Campaigns, the Campaigns Manager will:

  • Manage and implement campaign strategies to effect lasting change.
  • Investigate emerging threats and opportunities in global communities affected by the trade in donkeys.
  • Respond to donkey-welfare emergencies by implementing communication activities that show the real impact they are having.
  • Help maintain crisis management plans to ensure any potential negative associations are effectively and proactively managed and develop rapid response PR/marketing campaigns that support the Communications Strategy.

About You

As Campaigns Manager, along with building and maintaining excellent working relationships you, will represent the organisation in the media and at high-level strategic forums, and will chair regular campaign meetings with multiple stakeholders.

You will have:

  • Post-qualification experience in a strategic campaigns management role.
  • Experience of working with the media at a national and international level.
  • Experience of leading campaigns and developing and implementing effective campaign strategies
  • Experience of working internationally in a functional, cross departmental management position
  • Excellent influencing, diplomacy, writing and editorial skills.

 

A strong conceptual understanding of animal welfare and the international development environment is desirable.
