About the role

As a Community Officer, you will work closely with customers to build strong, safe and healthy communities.  Working as part of their Customer and Community Engagement Team this role is about making a difference to communities across the West Midlands. The role involves organising and developing a wide range of community activities and initiatives, and working alongside and supporting volunteers (including young volunteers).  Some evening and weekend work will be required.

The role will cover Birmingham, Tamworth and Staffordshire - you can be home based or be based at our offices in Birmingham.

They want somebody who is:

A good communicator and can convey information and ideas effectively. You will be able to deal sensitively with a range of customers; stay calm under pressure whilst managing constant and often conflicting demands. You will be committed to working as part of a team.  You will need to be able to write and present reports and keep effective records to demonstrate the impact of activities and initiatives.

As you will be required to travel to sites and attend other Group offices, you are required to have a driving licence and use of own vehicle or alternative means of getting to the required locations. This role requires a DBS check.

Working with them is more than just a job. They value the contribution that their colleagues make to their business and offer lots of opportunities for you to get involved - from networking groups through to fun community and social events.

They aim to attract, develop and retain the best people so, along with your generous salary they also offer a great range of benefits.

The Group is committed to their employees working flexibly where they can and they are keen to attract talent from diverse backgrounds.  If you are interested in this role but would like to explore a different way of working to the standard Monday to Friday, 9-5 approach, then please highlight this on your application or discuss it with them at the interview stage.  After all, they want to attract the best people to work for them and they know that one size does not fit all.

The Group are currently reviewing all terms and conditions of employment and harmonising salary structures, therefore these may be subject to change.

If this sounds like the place for you then they’d love to hear from you.
