Job Title:  Head of Philanthropy and Development

Hours:  Full time/Permanent

Salary:  Up to £50,000

We are working in partnership with an international charity who are at the forefront of using food technology for a better future. The charity brings together the brightest innovators, forward-thinking investors, and food marketing visionaries, to produce food in a new and better way.  The charity is seeking to tackle major issues effecting global warming – you’ll be a pivotal part of expanding its reach across Europe. 

You will work closely with the Managing Director and newly appointed Operation Directors to form the European hub of the charity.  In this newly formed role you’ll develop, lead and deliver against your innovative fundraising strategy.  To begin with this strategy will focus on major donors, but grow over time to include multiple income streams. 

The successful individual will need to demonstrate:

  • A track record of successfully driving fundraising income growth with high net worth individuals in a challenging, complex and pressurised environment
  • An ability to build strong relationships with donors and prospects
  • Experience developing strategies, operating plans and managing budgets
  • A very strong work ethic and self-motivation

We are seeking a strategic and influential individual with excellent communication skills and fundraising experience.  In effect this is a start-up organisation, so will require someone prepared to oversee and deliver on all income, whilst building the development department for future sustainability. 

At the moment the charity is small, but with the MD and Head of Operations you’ll be part of the nucleus to drive concrete change in the European and global food system, whilst growing the size of organisation.  The role will be home-based, but with at least monthly co-working in London for a few days at a time.
