Our client, one of the UK's top 20 universities, is currently seeking to recruit their newest PR and Media Officer to join their marketing and communications team to support the delivery of a creative and effective PR and media relations service.

As the university's PR and Media Officer, you will contribute to strengthening their reputation by identifying, planning, owning and delivering targeted and creative media relations and PR activity across a number of channels. Targeting both national and international audiences, you will create and distribute media materials including written copy, photography, web and social media along with engaging both the student and local community. You will also have responsibility for the creation and delivery of the university's termly newsletter. This wide ranging role will also identify new media trends and PR opportunities, as well as identify opportunities to promote relevant stories.

To be considered, you will have proven professional experience within a PR and media role, together with experience of developing and delivering targeted media relations campaigns. You will have the ability to plan and deliver creative media and PR relations across owned and earned channels. You will work independently and proactively and will have the confidence to deal with a wide variety of people, prioritise competing deadlines and comprehend complex situations quickly. Exceptional communication skills coupled with knowledge or familiarity with website management systems are essential to this post.
