London £55,385-£65,258 per annum, plus generous benefits

The Organisation

The National Lottery Community Fund distributes almost £500m a year to communities across the UK, raised by players of the National Lottery. With the funding given supporting a wide range of projects across health, educational, environmental, and charitable projects, grants can range from as little as £500 to multi million pound programmes.

The scale and diversity of The Fund's activity produces grant-making information of exceptional scope, richness and complexity. This certainly brings its own challenges, but it also means that there are very significant opportunities to help catalyse change and to make the most of this information for the benefit of their customers.

They now have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Data Analysis to join the Information Team. The Team has a UK-wide remit to transform the way they think about and use their data through an ambitious programme of change being developed within a fast-moving and demanding information environment.

The Role

This is a high-profile job. Leading a small, highly performing, specialist Information team, you'll be the centre of focus for the integrity, consistency, accuracy and application of information about their funding. You will use the Fund's new information systems and leverage innovative text mining technologies to make the most of our data reporting system and leverage text-mining technologies to make the most of existing data. Making this information accessible is critical to encouraging the sense of enquiry and curiosity that underpins better decision-making, and you will act as an advocate internally in this area.

 The Person

You will lead by example, guiding and mentoring your team and helping to develop a cross-team functional network of like-minded colleagues throughout the Fund to improve our capacity. Experience of managing a data or statistical analysis function is therefore key, along with experience of informal/dotted-line relationships with multi-disciplinary teams. A high level of technical competence is assumed for this role. You'll have expertise in data analysis/segmentation, and be comfortable working to SLAs. You'll also have managed consultants, internal and external suppliers, and team or project budgets.

Your excellent communication and people skills will give you the confidence to collaborate proactively and effectively with colleagues at all levels throughout and beyond the Fund. We'll be looking for evidence that you can bring about collaborative evidence-based change.

As this is an active, engaging role, some travel to the Fund's various offices will be necessary.   This role can be based in any of their offices throughout the country. London, Birmingham, Newcastle, Manchester, Leeds, Exeter, Cardiff, Glasgow, Belfast or Newtown
