Prospectus is delighted to be partnering with UK Community Foundations (UKCF) in their search for a Head of Programmes to join the team on a permanent basis. UKCF is an umbrella organisation which represents the network of community foundations throughout the UK. Community foundations work with individuals, families and companies to design bespoke grant making strategies that target particular issues or focus on particular geographical areas. There are 48 accredited community foundations in the UK; together they made grants of £65 million last year, making them one of the largest grant-giving organisations in the UK.

This role will lead a portfolio of national grant programmes delivered through the network of Community Foundations which are supporting small community based groups across the UK to achieve social impact. This role will cover delivery, impact measurement and reporting across the network. This role will also manage a small programmes team and will work closely with the Director of Programmes and Development to plan and forecast for existing and future work. Overseeing all UKCF's national programmes, this role will also handle reporting, monitoring and evaluation, governance, due diligence and compliance in addition to capturing and disseminating best practice techniques and policies.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of designing and managing programmes of grant-making including from national funders, trusts and foundations, government and large corporates ideally. With experience of building high level relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, this person will have excellent grass roots charity sector knowledge and understanding coupled with progressive project management and advanced IT skills. The ability to see the bigger picture will be essential and to recognise the difficulties faced by smaller locally based charities in sustaining their work through effective fundraising and well thought out project and programme design.
