This Trusts and Foundations Fundraiser opportunity can be employed or freelance, and is a brilliantly flexible location with home working and travel to choice of the three offices of this W Sussex charity, reporting to highly strategic, energetic and can-do Funding and Development Lead previously from the universities sector and an opportunity to build on the excellent work so far in this very emotive cause.

Carers Support West Sussex (CSWS) is an independent charity offering an incredible service, working in close partnership with West Sussex County Council and the NHS, to identify and offer support to unpaid family and friend carers across the county.

You will:

  • Support the Funding and Development Lead to raise income from existing and ‘cold’ trusts and foundations.
  • Write and submit funding applications for core costs and restricted income for projects.
  • Produce and submit reports to grant makers.
  • Assist with cultivation and stewardship of existing trusts.

 

 

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with the Funding and Development Lead and colleagues across CSWS to identify and develop new funding opportunities for CSWS services, ‘packaging’ and presenting core, capital or new project proposals for funding.
  • Develop compelling funding applications to grant makers, trusts and foundations for restricted and unrestricted income to achieve annual income targets.
  • Attend meetings when required, reporting on progress of funding applications and liaising with colleagues to ensure monitoring and delivery of funders’ requirements.
  • Coordinate and prepare notes and updates for internal and external meetings.
  • Identify and research new trusts and grant making opportunities and respond to new grant making schemes launched by existing grant makers to grow CSWS trust portfolio.
  • Establish close working relationships with key individuals within CSWS to access knowledge and information needed to co-ordinate projects to present to grant makers as funding propositions.
  • Identify emerging trends and themes to enable current cases for support presented in the optimum way.
  • Assist with the identification, planning and coordination of tasks suitable for volunteers.
  • Record and analyse project data and costs in order to monitor and evaluate projects and report to funders.
  • Write and submit informative and timely updates and progress reports to trust funders, effectively conveying the impact of their grants.
  • Ensure annual correspondence with trusts is sent in a timely manner, including grant reports, annual review, Christmas cards, etc.
  • Attend cultivation or stewardship events as required taking active role in developing relationships with Trust supporters.
  • Ensure all trust donations, grants and correspondence are recorded on the fundraising database, CRM Dynamics 365.
  • Maintain accurate records of relationships, projects and reporting, using CRM Dynamics 365 and other systems as required.
  • Conduct prospect research using web based applications to help identify new grant funding opportunities.
