Job Details

At RDA, our horses benefit the lives of over 25,000 disabled children and adults. With fun activities like riding and carriage driving, we provide therapy, fitness, skills development and opportunities for achievement – all supported by 18,000 volunteers and qualified coaches at nearly 500 RDA centres all over the UK.

RDA UK is governed by an experienced Board of Trustees with a wide range of skills, who are drawn both from within and beyond the organisation.

Our Board is seeking to appoint a new Trustee to work in partnership with the Chief Executive and Senior Management Team to take the organisation to the next stage of development.

We are looking for an individual with demonstrable fundraising expertise, with the same passion and inspiration for the work and values of RDA, supporting its ambitions for innovation and growth. You will provide a fresh perspective to the Board with respect to the implementation of RDA UK’s fundraising strategy, in collaboration with senior staff at RDA UK. You will assist the Chair to ensure that RDA can fulfil their responsibilities in line with the strategic aims of the organisation, particularly in relation to fundraising.

Ideally you will have experience of operating within a Board in a charitable or public sector organisation, and you must have held a senior role that showcases your skills and abilities in Fundraising.

Excellent interpersonal skills and your ability to collaborate effectively will be key, and you must be able to demonstrate a track record of sound judgment and effective decision making.

You should be available for a minimum of four Trustee meetings, a strategy day and additional subcommittee meetings (the latter can be attended remotely).

Being a Trustee of RDA requires strong commitment, however it is also an extremely rewarding experience. This is an interesting opportunity for an individual with an empathy for the cause to make a real difference and add value to this established organisation.

For a confidential discussion about the role, please contact our advising consultant Smita Rai at Morgan Hunt Executive on 07391 680216 or email Smita to receive a candidate pack smita.rai@morganhunt.com. The closing date for applications is Monday 25th November 2019 by 5.00pm.

RDA encourages applications from all sections of the community.
