Based either in London or Bristol, this is an entirely new role with huge opportunities for development. It is also a unique chance to proactively and creatively tell engaging stories from the coastal communities that the charity and their partners are striving to support.

As the Communications Manager, you will lead a skilled and evolving team while also coordinating the drafting, editing, review and publishing of fresh, original and engaging content for both external and internal audiences. Whether it be through photo stories, case studies, news articles, media releases, blogs, or social media campaigns, a determined and innovative approach to delivering impactful communications is key! Through your writing, you will proactively engage with a range of different audiences while comfortably taking a story all the way from an idea to a variety of published outputs. A crucial part of this position is the development of the communications function and the scheduling of planned communication;, ensuring the timely publication of quality content is aligned with definied organisational priorities.

A background working within and supporting human rights, humanitarian or international development related missions is highly desired, as you will be heavily involved in the content production related to human rights-based approaches to marine conservation. You will thrive in environments that are dynamic, fast-paced, collegiate and ambitious, and it is essential that you can succeed working independently and are adept at solving complex problems in challenging situations. Additionally, as you will be developing a team, you will be committed to nurturing and supporting colleagues to ensure that their best work is delivered.
