Edgware Road, London (with travel across five hospital sites in the London area)

About Us

Our client is an organisation that helps their hospitals do more through grants, arts, volunteering and fundraising. They support the five hospitals of Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust: Charing Cross, Hammersmith, Queen Charlotte’s & Chelsea, St Mary’s and the Western Eye.

Their fundraising initiatives, including major appeals, philanthropy, corporate partnerships and community events, make their essential work possible.

They are looking for an Fund Engagement Manager to join their ambitious Grants Team and support the management of their special purpose funds. 

Special purpose funds are donor-gifted funds, each with a specific purpose to support a particular hospital ward, department, area of research, service or group of patients within the Trust’s hospitals.

The Role 

As a Fund Engagement Manager, you will be a key player with our client during the first year of their new three-year strategy. 

Specifically, you will work with NHS staff who have delegated authority for our client’s special purpose funds. You’ll ensure funds are spent in line with guidelines, governance is followed and opportunities for grant spending and fund growth are capitalised. 

You will:

- Enhance engagement with their special purpose funds and promote their work
- Act as the key liaison contact between the charity and trust staff
- Facilitate their strategic goals for their grants, fundraising and finance teams
- Support the senior management team and board of trustees

About You

To join our client as a Fund Engagement Manager, you will need:

- At least two years’ grant-making experience in a similar role
- Experience of grants management (including grants management systems) including advising applicants, assessing and monitoring grants
- Great influencing skills and confidence in presenting to a range of audience types and sizes
- The ability to travel between our client’s hospital sites across west London on a day-to-day/weekly basis
- Proficient Microsoft Office skills and efficiency with CRM databases
- English language skills and the ability to build relationships

Experience in a similar role within the charity sector would also be desirable but is not essential.
