We are recruiting for a Child Sponsorship Modernisation Project Manager to lead on delivering the implementation, delivery and roll out of our new bulk mailing business processes and our new sponsored child database system.

ActionAid is an international charity that works with women and girls living in poverty. Our dedicated local staff are ending violence against women and girls and helping change lives, for good. We won’t stop until women and girls are out of danger, out of poverty and on track to create the future they want.

This is a critical project for ActionAid UK consisting of a new child sponsorship database with far greater development opportunities for child sponsorship supporter experience, and we will transition from mailing of child sponsorship messages from countries implementing programmes around the world, to the UK, over one hundred thousand pieces of communication a year.

The post holder will play a key role by providing project management and coordination for the deliverables of the project, across both the department and the wider organisation.

The Child Sponsorship Modernisation Project Manager will take responsibility for supporting the development of project plans and associated risk registers and for their continuous monitoring, evaluation and improvement.

We will look to you to develop actionable business process maps and to work with cross organisational teams to refine business processes throughout the project implementation period.

You will be a champion for our Child Sponsorship modernisation project and will successfully engage stakeholders and work with them to plan how we can maximise opportunities to develop the product.

Latterly, you will take responsibility for training ActionAid UK staff in using the system; this will involve developing training materials and being the main point of contact for any queries or issues with the system.

This is a vital and time critical project within ActionAid UK. We therefore are keen to receive applications from those with experience of successfully undertaking a role similar to this one within either the Fundraising or the commercial sector.

The successful applicant will demonstrate core project management experience and skills, including project team coordination and business analysis skills.

They will also have proven experience of developing training materials, guidance, and of delivering training plans.

You will be able to demonstrate a self-motivated attitude to work, and will be proactive, tenacious and resilient, as well as being capable of working through complex problems. Applicants must have proven, successful experience of working well on multiple projects and activities concurrently.

If you have this skillset, along with a passion to work within an organisation committed to improving the lives of women and girls living in poverty, for good, this may be the role for you.

Please note that this role is being offered as a 12 month fixed term contract.

ActionAid is passionate about supporting flexible working. If you would like to discuss flexible working options, including the possibility of a job share for this role, there will be space to do so during the interview process.

ActionAid is committed to driving improvement through digital channels, tools and ways of working. We will ensure that we provide the technology and the training to enable all staff to perform their roles to the best of their abilities. In return, we ask that all staff are committed to continually improving their digital skills and knowledge within the working environment. Our recruitment processes will evaluate the digital skills of all applicants.
