About Us

Established in 1991, our client is a community-led charity dedicated to ending homelessness. They empower homeless or insecurely housed individuals to achieve sustainable independent living.

They have gone from supporting a handful of people in the coastal town of Worthing to providing a range of services to over 1,700 people in Worthing, Adur, Littlehampton, Horsham and Mid Sussex. They have over 5,000 supporters, 300 volunteers and 100 staff members to date.

They believe that everyone has the right to a home, regardless of the difficulties and issues they may face in their lives. They believe in showing people who need our help that they are not alone, that the wider community is there to support them and offer hope for a better future.

They’re currently looking for a Head of Fundraising & Communications to help our client achieve their goals by implementing their Fundraising, Communications and Supporter Engagement strategy.

Our client has a number of services that are making a difference, including their community hubs, supported housing, outreach café and addition recovery support. They want to do more, and in this role, you will help us to gain the funding we need to end homelessness in the region.

The Role

As Head of Fundraising & Communications, you will develop, inspire and lead a high-performing team and through excellent external and internal communications, ensure the charity delivers on its mission and ambitions.

This is a broad role covering strategy, fundraising, PR and communications and people development, giving you the opportunity to make a difference throughout their organisation.

You will set stretching targets with the aim to increase our net income from £115K to £370K over the next five years.

Reporting to the Chief Executive and Board of Trustees, you will:

- Develop a compelling fundraising vision and communications strategy
- Develop the digital brand, including our website and social media
- Ensure that monitoring, compliance, risk and ethical fundraising frameworks are in place

About You

To join us as our Head of Fundraising & Communications, you will need:

- Fundraising experience at a senior level
- Experience of creating and managing multiple budgets and forecasts
- A track record of leading and managing teams to achieve growth targets across multiple income streams in the fundraising charity sector
- Proficiency in media channels, such as online (including social media and websites), radio, television and print

A certificate or diploma in Fundraising from the Institute of Fundraising would be beneficial to your application.
