Young People’s Intensive Support Worker / Independent Living Support Worker

Based in central Cambridge

£28,512 per annum, pro rata (based on a 37.5 hour week)

28 hours per week, including evening and weekend working

 

Our client have a vacancy for a talented individual to join their supported housing service for young people aged 16 and 17 with complex needs to support them through their transition from social care to independent living.

 

Working with vulnerable young people with complex support needs, who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, you’ll promote independent living skills, bring about lifestyle changes and enhance their lives. You will provide the highest quality intensive support so that young people can grow and change, and move on to more independent living in the most appropriate way. 

 

The team are all committed to deepening their understanding of the issues young people face and embracing new, creative and personalised approaches to building rapport and supporting individuals to gain independence. Their new team member will share this passion and will take opportunities to bring new ideas to the service and develop existing approaches and systems.

 

They are looking for someone with a warm, compassionate and calm nature who can support, motivate and inspire young people. With previous experience in a similar role, you’ll have the ability to work with young people with complex needs and challenging behaviour, engaging and supporting them.

 

Our client is looking for an individual with excellent organisational skills and a high level of self awareness, who will have the interpersonal skills to work seamlessly with colleagues in a supported housing environment and with key partners, such as family members and other professionals.
