Prospectus is pleased to be supporting a homelessness charity that works with more than 1600 homeless and vulnerable housed people a year in East London. Through offering an integrated service of crisis support, advice, recovery, and learning and training programmes, they aim to support socially excluded individuals to access the support and opportunities they need to create a safe, healthy and sustainable life away from the streets. They are now looking to recruit a Substance Misuse Outreach Worker to join their Reset Outreach & Referral Service. This is offered as a permanent, full time position.
As their Substance Misuse Outreach Worker, you'll form part of the Reset Outreach & Referral Service, working across Tower Hamlets ensuring that residents of the borough have access to the drug and alcohol support they need, providing outreach intervention to individuals with chaotic drug/alcohol use using a 'strengths based' approach. Working collaboratively with internal and external partners, you will support individuals to access structured treatment intervention, as well as provide targeted harm reduction advice and information to those at risk of becoming associated to substance use.
To be successful, you will be passionate about providing quality support to some of the most vulnerable and excluded people of East London. You will have drive and ambition to support your team to make positive and lasting changes in people's lives. You'll have demonstrable experience in delivering needle exchange, as well as an excellent knowledge of substance misuse support services. Finally, knowledge and experience of supporting people with complex needs such as rough sleeping and poor mental health is essential.
