Permanent, Full Time (35 hours per week)

Our client is a value-orientated Housing Association working together to create communities where people want to live. They manage circa 5,500 homes over a wide geographical area and their residents include families, older people and those in need of special care and support.

They’re looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic and experienced development professional, to be a strong lead in the delivery of their new, ambitious development programme, which aims to deliver around 1,300 new homes over the next 5 years.

To be successful in this role you will be a champion of good practice and committed to challenging and enhancing the way they work, as they move to a bright future. You will have experience of managing complex, mixed tenure Development programmes, working to tight budgets and timescales, reporting to key stakeholders and managing people.

Your primary responsibility will be overseeing the delivery of their programme of new homes, supporting the team to deliver on time and within budget.  You will be responsible for monitoring performance, budgets, and risk, reporting to key internal and external stakeholders and ensuring full compliance with Homes England, policies, procedures, funding and audit requirements.

By developing and maintaining a full understanding of the varied housing markets in which they operate, you will work closely with the Assistant Director of Assets and Growth and other key stakeholders, playing a key role to identify new business opportunities through the procurement of land, Section 106 deals and land and build package deals.

You will be responsible for carrying out financial appraisals, securing approvals and leading on contract negotiations. In addition, you will be responsible for options appraisals on their existing assets, evaluating and maximising their financial and social return.

Overarching everything, you will have a demonstrable background and experience in development. A strong understanding of the legislative framework relating to this area of work and its practical application.

You may be an existing manager or someone who has developed the required expertise and is confident in managing others. You will be able to clearly demonstrate your skills along with your commitment to improving the Group.

Our client offers an excellent package of benefits including: DC Pension Scheme with employer’s contributions up to 10%; 25 days annual leave which increases to 28 days after 4 years’ service; additional annual leave for significant life events (moving home / getting married) and paid time off for volunteering; flexi time and flexible / agile working options; payments of professional subscription fees and free onsite parking.

If you’re passionate about their sector and the work that they do, this is a great chance to join an exciting, rewarding organisation and they’d love to hear from you!

In support of your application, please provide a written statement detailing how your skills, experience, abilities, behaviours and work-related qualities make you a suitable candidate for this role. Please note that your written statement forms an important part of our shortlisting process.
