Brand and Content Officer

Reports to: Head of Communications
Based at: The Charity Head Office, High Wycombe
Salary grade table: Specialist (SP5), £24,313.25 to £27,014.59 based on experience

Contract: 12 month fixed term maternity cover position
Hours: 35 hours per week. Hours to be agreed with your line manager. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required
Holiday: 36 days holiday a year including bank holidays 
Line management: No direct reports

The role: To support delivery of the charity’s key communication tools including a magazine, information materials and website content, ensuring it is on brand and on message.

Key responsibilities:
•    Act as internal brand ambassador/guardian to ensure the charity’s visual and verbal corporate identity is correctly applied, developed and protected
•    Produce editorial and design content across channels including campaigns, print and digital to support strategic aims
•    Edit their magazine, taking a lead on content, commissioning and writing articles, subediting copy, flat planning, sourcing images and directing design. 
•    Work closely with internal editorial team to coordinate the content production process and deliver a high quality magazine and newsletters on schedule and to budget 
•    Develop content for and manage the production of information packs, leaflets and other materials, working with teams to maintain consistent information that is on brand and message 
•    Use Adobe creative suite (InDesign, Photoshop) to create a range of digital assets and printed collateral to support the charity’s work 
•    Support further development of the website and day to day management of content and images as a key communication tool and service platform for members
•    Work with a range of third parties including branding agencies, video companies, printers and designers
•    Collaborate with other teams to monitor trends in information requested and ensure content is developed in line with audience needs
•    Any other work as required

Knowledge, skills and experience:
•    A motivated individual with initiative and a structured approach to work

•    Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
•    Excellent attention to detail
•    Motivated, cooperative team player
•    Educated to degree standard or equivalent experience
•    Confident proof reader with excellent command of the English language
•    Understanding of corporate and stakeholder communication and skilled in tailoring content to meet audience need
•    Demonstrable copy writing and editing experience
•    Experience in working with designers
•    Good IT skills – MS Word, MS Outlook, Adobe Suite 
•    Able to manage projects on own initiative within team environment
•    First rate organisational skills
•    Understanding of web CMS desirable
