About us
Pancreatic cancer is a tough one but we’re taking it on. We are supporting those affected by the disease, investing in ground-breaking research, lobbying for greater recognition of pancreatic cancer and being a voice for everyone involved in the fight. Together we are taking on pancreatic cancer.
The role
This role is part of the Corporate Services team which covers Finance, IT, Human Resources, Data, Governance, and Office Support services. We are a positive, helpful and engaged team at the heart of the charity.
The charity is looking to upgrade its accounting software and improve processes. The Systems and Management Accountant, will project manage this change in our systems which will enable more detailed data capture, reporting and analysis to inform our managers and support our decision making. The role is a 2-year contract which will also assist the Senior Finance Manager in tasks such as the production of management accounts and budget preparation.
For some years the charity has been using Sage 50 as its accounting software, which is essentially a small business package which was not intended for the charity market. The charity has grown considerably, and Sage does not have the capacity to support increasing needs for granularity and sophistication. We are looking to move to Infor SunSystems which is widely used in the charity sector. Ideally the “go live” date will be 1 April 2020
About you
You will be Part-qualified or qualified CCAB accountant with a good level of experience implementing or upgrading a new finance/accounting system. You will have excellent and extensive working knowledge of Infor SunSystems and Q&A (Vision) including using multiple analysis codes, account allocation, uploading journals and complex analysis and report development. You will also be familiar with working in an organisation registered for VAT, with strong technical systems skills, such as experience improving or creating mapping/documentation of accounting processes.
Working with us
We are an inclusive employer committed to developing a diverse workforce and are looking for people who can demonstrate dedication to our cause and values. We offer a supportive place to work with helpful and friendly staff who report a high level of job satisfaction. Our main office is based in London on the river with views toward Westminster.
