Our client are seeking a creative individual with strong digital skills to produce informative and engaging online content for the charity’s website.

Founded in 1830, our client is a charity and the UK’s learned society and professional body for geography and geographers. The charity has an international reputation and a global membership of 16,000 providing intellectual, financial and volunteer support. Their programme of public, policy and educational engagement with audiences reaches several million people each year through their events and online resources. 

As Web Communications Officer you will have a crucial role in working closely with the rest of the communications team, developing the charity’s online content strategy and maintaining the technical functionality of the website.

To succeed in this role, you will have demonstrable experience of implementing an organisation-wide web content strategy and functional development plan, along with experience of editing and proofreading. You will have the ability to collaborate effectively and successfully with third party web developers and suppliers.

In addition, you will have:

  • A degree (or equivalent) in geography or closely related subject
  • Experience of working with the Kentico content management platform or other similar CMS
  • Experience of integrating websites and contact databases
  • Experience of using Google Analytics
  • Hands on experience of MS Office, Photoshop (or similar), and of editing film using Final Cut Pro (or similar)

Reporting to the Head of Public Engagement and Communications, this is an exciting time to join the team.

This role offers a mix of content production and technical development.
