Prospectus is delighted to be recruiting for a Research Manager to join the GambleAware team.

GambleAware is an independent charity tasked to fund research, prevention and treatment services to help reduce gambling harms in Great Britain. The project and programme delivery framework is based on best practise and recognises the importance of robust project set up to ensure successful delivery throughout the life cycle. The research programme is making a key contribution to building the emerging international evidence base into gambling related harms, improving knowledge of what works in prevention, education and treatment.

Reporting to the Research Director, the post-holder will lead on the commissioning and project set up stages of research programmes and projects, ensuring key stake-holders and subject matter experts are engaged. This will enable research teams to deliver well-designed and high quality research. Agreeing project milestones, you will manage a robust quality assurance process of research produced by the commissioned team, inputting at all stages throughout. This will range from the initial briefing to implementation of the research, research design, literature review and data access and analysis. You will manage the evaluation process for research proposals, as well as the preparation of recommendations. The successful candidate will have oversight of project budgets to ensure delivery against project deadlines and payment schedules are met. Additionally, you will coordinate expert steering groups, maintaining project and programme management documents to report back to relevant colleagues.

To be considered for this role, it is essential to have proven experience of designing, managing or commissioning complex research and evaluation projects using qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, with solid experience of building positive relationships with a variety of stakeholders. You are required to have knowledge of developing theories of change to provide a framework for robust project design and evaluation, ideally with an understanding of the range of research organisations working in the field of gambling harms. It is essential to have budget management experience with the ability to analyse and synthesise complex information for a range of audiences. Knowledge of gambling and gambling harms or other relevant field is desirable. The placed candidate will have a postgraduate qualification in a relevant subject or equivalent experience.

Interviews will be taking place 14th November.

Full job descriptions will be provided to candidates shortlisted by Prospectus.

Please apply with a Word Document copy of your CV. Cover letters are not required at this stage.
