ActionAid is an international charity that works with women and girls living in poverty. Our dedicated local staff are changing the world with women and girls. We are ending violence and fighting poverty so that all women, everywhere, can create the future they want.

As Departmental Officer within the Fundraising department, you will be responsible for providing support to the Director of Fundraising and to all of the teams within the wider Fundraising department. You will also provide assistance with the day to day running of the department.

The role of Departmental Officer is fundamental to the success of the department, so it is vital that the post holder is able to provide proactive, effective diary management, including prioritising appointments, scheduling and planning meetings and that they are able to manage the organisation of travel arrangements.

You will be the first point of contact for those getting in touch with the Fundraising department, whether it be in person, over the phone or via email, so it is essential that you have strong written and verbal communication skills and that you are strong at building relationships.

All of our Departmental Officers are responsible for providing budget management support, including processing invoices and expenses, so this will form an important part of your role.

As our Fundraising Departmental Officer, you will also prepare for key internal and external meetings by booking rooms, preparing relevant paperwork and by ensuring that the necessary technology is set up correctly.

You will induct new members of staff into the department and will oversee the Fundraising intranet site, ensuring it is up to date and accessible to all.

In order to succeed within this role, it is essential that you have proven experience of project support and stakeholder management.

We look forward to receiving applications from those with extensive experience of using Outlook, with strong diary management skills and with the ability to manage multi priorities at one time.

If you have this skill set along with a passion to work within an organisation committed to working with women and girls living in poverty to enable them to change their lives for good, we are keen to receive your application.

ActionAid is committed to supporting flexible working. If you would like to discuss flexible working options, including the possibility of a job share for this role, there will be space to do so during the interview process.

ActionAid is committed to driving improvement through digital channels, tools and ways of working. We will ensure that we provide the technology and the training to enable all staff to perform their roles to the best of their abilities. In return, we ask that all staff are committed to continually improving their digital skills and knowledge within the working environment. Our recruitment processes will evaluate the digital skills of all applicants.
