Job Details

Help inspire the next generation of engineers.

We are looking for an outstanding Head of Digital Communications to lead the evolution and professionalisation of the Academy's digital communications strategy and content, and help position us as a forward-thinking, digitally savvy brand.

In this newly created role, you will oversee the production of the Academy’s digital content and management of all of the Academy's digital channels to optimise user journeys, maximise meaningful engagement and grow new audiences, working with stakeholders, influencers and thought leaders as needed.

Engineering matters. It underpins our daily lives, drives economic growth, plays a critical role in addressing major societal challenges and helps ensure our readiness for the future, from providing a sustainable supply of food, water and clean energy, to advancing healthcare, and keeping us safe and secure.

As the UK’s national academy for engineering and technology, the Royal Academy of Engineering brings together the most talented and successful engineers – our Fellows – to advance and promote excellence in engineering for the benefit of society.

You will be joining the Academy at an exciting time in its development, following recent significant growth in its activities, and as we embark on delivering a new five-year strategy under the leadership of a new President.

Head of Digital Communications is a leadership role, but one which also offers real intellectual excitement and privileged access to some of the country’s best minds.

To succeed, you must have extensive experience of digital communications and marketing and developing and delivering digital communications strategies with deep knowledge of different digital media channels and content formats. You are someone who is creative, resourceful, versatile, an excellent communicator, and able to work collaboratively with staff at all levels.

If this sounds like you, we would love to hear from you. To find out more and to apply, please visit our website.

Closing date: 28th October 2019.

Interview date: 8th November 2019.
