Description
The key responsibilities for the Senior Communications Manager will be:
Core responsibilities
- Corporate communications. Providing proactive and reactive strategic support to the firm's board of management to ensure the firm's messaging is communicated appropriately.
- Campaign support. Devising and implementing public relations campaigns to support significant advertising campaigns, often relating to claimant litigation cases.
- Deal announcements. Ensuring the firm's role in high profile corporate and property transactions is highlighted in appropriate media coverage.
- Media relations. Building and managing relationships with influential journalists from regional, national and trade publications.
- Work stream and sector specific media commentary. Ensuring key partners are provided with opportunities to comment on relevant developments within their areas of expertise.
- Proactive media monitoring. Horizon scanning and monitoring media coverage to identify areas for expert partners to provide commentary.
- On the ground support for inquests, trials and high profile cases. Attending court cases and hearings to manage media coverage and occasionally provide support to the firm's clients who need support in their engagement with press.
- Reputation management. In rare instances where the firm's reputation could be at risk, providing strategic guidance to the board of management to ensure any response or comment is appropriate.
- Internal communications. Working with board of management partners and directors to devise and implement an internal communications strategy which communicates key news and engages a substantial workforce with strategic goals and core values.
Profile
The successful Senior Communications Manager, based in Cardiff will have:
* At least 5 years experience within a senior Communications role
* Preferred sector experience in Law or Public sector
* Experienced dealing with board of management partners and Directors
* Strong experience with Media relations - Influencing journalist. national and trade publications
