IT Support Officer

Location: MSSC HQ, London, SE1 7JW

Contract: Full time, Permanent

Salary: £26,000 - £28,000 per annum depending on experience.

We are currently seeking to appoint an IT Support Officer based at our Headquarters in London.  In this role you will be providing end user support to MSSC employees spread over multiples sites around the UK.  This will be mostly in person at Headquarters, where this position is will be based or over the phone or using remote access tools, with occasional requirement to travel when necessary.  As part of this role you will also have the opportunity to participate in project work and be exposed to a wider perspective of IT in a small but progressive organisation. 

Key duties include:

  • Logging and tracking user’s IT issues, questions, queries and requests
  • Working with end users to resolve IT issues either in person, by phone, via email, remote login or a site visit
  • Administering the Help Desk
  • Ordering, installing, configuring and managing IT assets, such as desktops, laptops, tablets, mobile phones, printers and telephone system. This includes any imaging, patch and application delivery
  • Recording and managing software licenses
  • Recording and managing IT assets
  • Application support and end user training, which includes the following packages -
    • A Customer Relationship management suite
    • Web site administration and support, including content management (but not content creation)
    • Microsoft Windows, Office 2016, Office 365 suite and Citrix
  • Support, management and administration of the door entry and security systems, telephone landlines, mobile phones, other mobile devices and photocopiers.

Key skills required:

  • A background of Help Desk and application support.
  • A good working knowledge of Microsoft Windows10, Windows Server 2012 & 2016 including Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange and Office365.
  • Good understanding of a terminal server environment, particularly Citrix.
  • Experience and understanding of networking technologies
  • A positive “can do” approach to work
  • A desire and a passion to learn
  • Ability to demonstrate expertise
  • Ability to build a professional relationships and trust with end users
  • Ability to prioritise workloads
  • Adaptable and ability to work in an ever changing environment
  • Good communication skills, coupled with patience and understanding
