Job Details
Our client is a London based charity aiming to prevent homelessness. They work closely with vulnerable and socially excluded people to help transform their lives. They are currently looking to recruit a Support Worker to provide support to a caseload of adults with complex needs in a supported accommodation service in Lewisham. This position is offered on a temporary basis, initially for two-three months, with the possibility of extension.
As a Support Worker, you will effectively manage a caseload of c.20 clients with medium to low support needs to enable them to understand their emotional and mental health needs and support them in managing these effectively. Through 1:1 support, you will support your clients to develop their living skills, develop and manage healthy relationships, build social networks and access ETE opportunities by completely comprehensive needs and risk assessments with clients. Finally, due to the nature of the service, you will work with your clients to support them managing successful tenancy prior to moving on to more independent housing.
To be successful, you must have experience of key working a caseload of homeless adults presenting with complex needs, conducting risk assessments and a knowledge of safeguarding. You must also have some experience of working with mental health problems and/or clients with substance misuse, or homeless-related needs, or a combination of these client groups.Finally, you should demonstrate understanding of the Recovery Model and the ability to engage and motivate clients to move towards independence and inclusion.
To be considered, you must be available immediately and be in possession of a fully enhanced DBS check that is registered to the online update service. You will also be available to work 37.5 hours per week, working across Monday - Sunday.
