Finance Assistant (flexible working hours)

£29,000 pa including London Weighting (pro-rata based on a part-time 30 hour working week)

Harris Hill Charity recruitment specialists are proud to be working alongside a great charity who are looking for an experienced Finance Assistant to work flexibly on a part-time basis (30 hours a week). This is a perfect opportunity to address your work/life balance. The option is there to start later in the morning and finish earlier in the afternoon or you might decide to work four days a week. This could be a perfect solution for you.

You will assist the finance team in maintaining the financial records of the organisation.

Responsibilities and Duties

Process supplier invoices and payments
Process volunteer & staff expense claims
To assist with ordering publications
Process sales orders and customer receipts
Process donations and other income received via a number of platforms e.g. PayPal
To assist with the preparation of tax reclaims on Gift Aid donations
To assist in the preparation of monthly management reports
To ensure compliance with Financial Procedures
To carry out whatever other duties as may reasonably be required

Experience (essentail)

At least one years' experience working as part of a busy finance team

Experience (desirable) 

Experience of using accounting software (training will be given)

Knowledge

Basic understanding of accounting concepts


Skills

MS office Excel, Word and Outlook
Numeracy
Ability to communicate effectively
Ability to prioritise

Education and training
A level qualifications
AAT or equivalent experience


Personal attributes

Enthusiasm to learn and improve processes
Excellent attention to detail
Willingness to be flexible and help in any task that furthers the aims of the charity
Ability to function well in an environment where difficult and sensitive subjects are constantly under
discussion
Ability to work well in a diverse team
