Our client is a London based charity aiming to prevent homelessness. They work closely with vulnerable and socially excluded people to help transform their lives. They are currently looking to recruit a Support Assistant to provide a dynamic and empowering service to vulnerable young people in Sydenham. This position is offered on a full-time, temporary basis initially for two to three months.

As a Support Assistant you will work with Young People at risk, leaving care and at risk of reoffending between the ages of 16 21. You will run weekly activities alongside the support workers, accompanying clients to appointment, helping move young people in, void management as well as help with daily duties required in a supported accommodation environment. Although you will be not required to carry a caseload, you will be expected to assist with delivering workshops relating to topics including ETE, cooking & budgeting.

To be successful, you must have experience of working with young people ideally in a support capacity, supporting and assessing young people or homeless clients. You will possess the ability to assist Support Workers in delivering a sensitive, client-centred support service to young people presenting with complex needs, and have the capability to support in delivering workshops that supports move on. You will have a sound knowledge and current understanding of safeguarding issues and thorough understanding of the needs of homeless individuals and young people. Overall, you are a self - motivated, hard working with excellent communication skills.

The successful candidate will be required to work a 7 day rota, Monday-Sunday including early, late and mid shifts.
