Our client is a London based charity aiming to prevent homelessness. They work closely with vulnerable and socially excluded people to help transform their lives. They are currently looking to recruit a Support Worker to provide a dynamic and empowering service to vulnerable young people in Sydenham. This position is offered on a full-time, temporary basis initially for three to four months with the possibility of extension.

As a Support Worker you will be required to provide a high quality, assessment service to a caseload of young people, ensuring service users are ready to move on, either within the borough's pathway or into independent accommodation. With a caseload of service users with complex and varying needs, you will explore move on options for the service users in order to sustain meaningful accommodation and avoid tenancy break downs, and relapse to homelessness.You will support rough young people by ensuring that referrals are made to relevant services and in line with local objectives and targets.

To be successful, you must have experience of working in a Support capacity, supporting and assessing young people or homeless clients. You will possess the ability to deliver a sensitive, client-centred support service to young people presenting with complex needs, and have the capability to implement action plans through high-quality risk and needs assessment. You will have a sound knowledge and current understanding of safeguarding issues and thorough understanding of the needs of homeless individuals and young people. Overall, you are a self - motivated, hard working with excellent communication skills.

The successful candidate will be required to work a 7 day rota, Monday-Sunday including early, late and mid shifts.
